Cathedral Quarter Hotel - Derby

I arrived two or three hours before check-in time in quite a hurry for an event and was able to leave my suitcase in a back room, this was really, really helpful. There was always a member of staff on desk. Porridge on the breakfast menu? Yes! *The steak, chips and veg on night two were much better. There's not a box for a comment like this but I'm guessing it's so expensive that it doesn't get a massive amount of people through the door, I dined alone in the big restaurant room on Sunday though that was was an experience I neither liked or disliked ...it's just what happened.

The bed was comfy and room quiet. The staff were excellent, couldn’t do enough for you. A special shout out to Yana on reception who made me feel welcome. The location was fantastic, 2 min walk to Derby town centre. The room was cleaned to a superb standard everyday with tea, water and shower items replaced.

Absolutely beautiful building! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and there was lots of variety. The rooms were clean but there was a weird smell. I couldn’t put my finger on it but felt like something was missing in the room, maybe decorative cushions and throws on the bed?🤔 but I can’t really fault anything it was a lovely nights stay!! The man on reception even told us some history of the building showed us around the wedding room. Location was also perfect 👌

We normally stay in a hotel chain when visiting Derby but decided to give this hotel a try, which we are glad we did. It is beautiful, and we prefer older style buildings with character, so the feedback about it being dated wasn't an issue. The room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. I needed a bath, so I was pleased to have one at the end of a long day. The location is fantastic for Derby city centre and the hotel is value for money, half the price of what we'd normally stay. The room was spotless, I'm sorry I forgot to leave a tip for housekeeping, but I will do when we visit again.

This hotel hadn't been on booking.com for very long, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Very happy with my stay. Greeted by friendly staff. Room was comfortable and well appointed. The building itself has an interesting history, so worth asking about it. I'll be staying again next time I'm in Derby. Thanks very much
